Announcements

Effective April 2011, we will no longer accept new enrollment for TriCare - with apologies to our country's military.  TriCare administrative requirements are far over and above those of any other health insurance network.   The very large amout of time and effort necessary to comply with these requirements makes it impossile to continue.  The exclusion does not apply to current patients enrolled in TriCare.

We are pleased to announce that the practice has re-opened to AmeriChoice, the United Health Care-managed "M.C.O." version of Madyland Medicaid and Maryland SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Plan).

As is common in our new-millenium economy, our former web host, Medem, has been acquired and taken over by the new company, MedFusion...which is itself abut to be acquired and taken over by the larger company, Intuit!

This site will remain "under construction" for awhile, during this phase of frequent changes in web hosting.  It's content and capabilities will remain rather basic until the acquisition process is complete.

We apologize that the extensive patient library available through our former web host, is no longer available: new and old host companies have different capabilities.

If you or your employer are considering a change in health insurance Plans, please consider these hard-learned lessons:

  • A Plan's marketing is no measure of its quality. Do not be deceived by colorful pictures and smiling faces in advertising brochures.
  • Getting in and out of a doctor's office for a small copayment, is not a measure of good coverage.
  • It is not possible for a managed Plan with lower premiums to be "just as good" as one with higher premiums. Beware of hidden cuts in coverage that may not be obvious from what the sales representative shows you.
  • Please be sure the Plan is "alive and well" where you live - especially if it appears to be a bargain. You may not be able to see the doctor you want...or there may not be any doctor at all near your home.
  • The best value is a Plan that directs as much of your health care dollar as possible to the people who provide the care - and as little as possible to the profits of the insurance companies. A high-deductible P.P.O. or indemnity Plan with a Medical Savings Account will generally give you the best coverage, and the most choices.
A detailed list of participating insurance plans can be viewed by clicking the link on your left. Please keep in mind that we can work with almost any P.P.O if you don't see yours listed.
